Ricard is a pastis, an anise and licorice-flavored aperitif. The brand is the global leader in anise-based alcohols, with over 40 million litres being sold every year. The aging takes place in large barrels in the open air, a slight ‘sea side’ flavor is imparted by the salt spray that licks the barrels.
